UPDATE x 2: CNN reported that yet another suspicious device was intercepted, intended for the White House. CNBC and Reuters, however, say that report was false. An attempt to make the White House seem less complicit? Who gave the false info to CNN?
UPDATE: Time Warner Center, home of CNN, evacuated after report of yet another suspicious package.
Taken on its face, it seems like someone is taking President Trump’s hate rhetoric to heart. One day after an explosive device was found at the residence of billionaire George Soros, the boogeyman and dog-whistle target of White Nationalist anti-Semites, we have reports this morning of similar devices being intercepted enroute to the New York residences of Hillary Clinton and former President Barack Obama.
A law enforcement official told The New York Times that the “explosive device” sent to the Clintons’ home in Chappaqua, New York, was found by a technician who screens mail for the former president and his family.
The Secret Service said in a statement that the package addressed to Obama was intercepted by agency personnel in Washington, D.C. on Wednesday morning.
How long until the crowds who respond to President Trump’s rallying cry to “lock up” his political opponents start chanting, “BLOW THEM UP! BLOW THEM UP!”
